Shep and Liara..need I say more :D?

:iconfolksneedheroes: helped me out a great deal with this one, not only did she spark the idea in my head, but also did the inking :meow:. Big thank you to her  So, sketch by me, inks by :iconfolksneedheroes: and colors by me again :D.

The characters and Mass Effect are, of course, owned by BioWare.

Don't copy, steal, trace, or use without permission, I'm serious guys, not cool!!

Edit: I was forced to put a watermark on this, just to hopefully prevent further incidents of art theft. And I hate watermarks!! D:

Being a tough-ass woman myself i truly can appreciate how it feels to have to be responsible for so much and just want someone to let go of all that with, even if just for a few moments now and again. In this picture you have perfectly captured the incredibly tasteful let go and give in to the only emotion more powerful than fight or flight, and that is love. It really is a very well done piece. It conveys want in so many ways: Liara's want to be with Shepard, Shepard's want to just feel trusted, believed, and loved. It a tender moment gone a bit steamy, but not in a pornographic way. Bravo.

Onto the art itself: its incredibly well done, the way the sheet drapes and wrinkles around Liara and Shep, the outline of Liara's bum and thigh under that sheet are damn near perfect anatomically although hidden, and the way they were positioned gives us this little hint of exactly how steamy this moment is becoming, as Liara is shirtless and i'm sure our commander will be as well in no time. The lines are soft and the colors perfect: Liara is the correct blue, with juuust the right amount of purple in her cheeks and nose (as she is flushed from the heat of the moment. Shep's N7 logo is perfectly faded for a well loved comfy sleep t-shirt.

Overall: Wicked Awesome piece of art, sexy and tasteful, truly this picture speaks a thousand words of relief, of want, of thanks, and most of all, of love.

To me, Liara is the best romance option for a female Shepard. I've played most, watched the rest. On my second playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy, I decided to play as a FemShep, and I romanced Liara in all three games. I enjoy playing as female characters in video games more than male, it's more interesting that way to me. I'm a big human right's advocate, especially in regard to women and the LGBT community. I don't view women as sex objects, as some people do. They're just as, if not more capable than men.

But listen to me ramble on! I have art to critique. I decided I needed a preface for what my views of FemShep and her relationship with Liara.

This piece wonderfully captures the love that Shepard and Liara have for eachother. It's steamy, but tasteful. I love your vision, it's brilliantly done. I docked stars for originality, because well let's face it, it's not original per se. However, just because it isn't the most original thing ever, that doesn't mean it isn't good. I docked half a star from technique, because it feels like it could be done a little better in areas.

Most notable however was impact. I smiled when I saw this in my inbox. See, the truth is I'm a romantic, a total sap. Which straight men aren't supposed to be, but I really don't care what other people think. I find love to be beautiful, and I cried at the end of the new Extended Cut version of Mass Effect 3, because there is this big heart filled moment between Shepard and her/his love interest. And the only time I've played the new ending, was with my second Shepard that I mentioned earlier.

Brilliant job overall.

Beautiful picture. I especially love the obvious surrender of Shepard. You generally just see that in fanart that features a male romance option, and even there, it's rare. The fact that Shepard is such a present character, always tough, always the rock, makes this depiction so powerful. Here is a galaxy crumbling around them both, but the love story, while less than satisfactory, allows Shepard to revert to a soft, beautiful woman. You see it time and again, paired with Liara's progression through the trilogy. A timid geek that finds that one person made for her. Their pairing in the beginning with Shepard being the obvious dominant figure, and finally relenting at the culmination of the series. Sharing her fears and dreams in their final night.

Thank you for drawing and sharing this work.
