What I think is awesome is everyone's reaction to this piece. So many of the important emotions and feelings i envisioned for this scene came through beautifully, which is a testament to your talent:
"In my mind, its taken Liara a few weeks/months to take the Normandy back to the Citadel. She's held out hope, against her better judgement and maybe even advice of her friends that her love survived. Shepard was found in the rubble of the Citadel, barely alive, sustained by the hope of seeing Liara, having won the peace for them, for everyone. Not knowing if her crew-Liara- survived or not, she's been recovering, maybe just out of the hospital (not really looking for some weepy deathbed scene). And this would be that first moment they're reunited; quiet, almost disbelieving, but the first touch reassuring and affirming so much: love, victory, sacrifice, peace, and the future."
This came out better than I'd ever hoped. You're amazing!
It was a blast working with you, too, I had tons of fun drawing this
Thanks again, you're too kind
And I gotta say that if this is post ME3, Shep got off light with only that hand bandage.
Heh, I agree, but I was specifically instructed to not make it a deathbed scene and keep injuries light. The wonders of medi-gel
And I actually preferred drawing it like that, not a big fan of angsty stuff ^^.
